Wow!  What a busy day we’ve had!!!  We cast, practiced, and performed a Fraction Fairy Tale for our podcast (it’s an audio file you can click on and listen to or download to an mp3 play).  I will upload it to the blog tonight.  We had the Spelling Cloze test 18.  We had Representative John Stahl visit us and read a book–a podcast of that will be on the blog later this week (I’ve got a lot of postproduction editing to do).  We read the first lesson in Chapter 11 and found out about the kinds of governing bodies the colonies had before the Revolutionary War and how John Peter Zenger’s libel trial (he wrote mean things about the Governor) established our Freedom of Speech and of the Press to protect ourselves against the abuses of authority. We had a late recess (due to Mr. Stahl’s visit).  We have a lot of notes going home including a permission slip for a field trip to Border’s Bookstore on Thursday, March 9 from 9-12:15.  There is also a flyer about the reading workshop for parents and kids on Tuesday night from 6:30-7:30.  There’s also a YAC talent show Tuesday night from 4-5 pm.  We got a lot of great stuff to share from John Stahl including maps, book marks, maps, and Michigan coloring books.  Also don’t forget the flyer for Ident-a-kid.  ALSO–orders for the trees CANNOT be accepted after tomorrow Morning.  It was extended due to the ice day.  Last, but not least, the 3rd marking period progress report is going home today–please sign and return!  Wow!  That was a bunch!!!
